WHO ARE WE Meet the team
With over forty years experience in the construction industry, Mark started his career as an apprentice carpenter and joiner before qualifying as a Quantity Surveyor in 1982. Throughout his career he has worked for both small and large construction companies and developers in a variety of roles.
Mark joined the original Portsmere team in 1994 as a quantity surveyor. Throughout his time at Portsmere he has worked closely with clients, architects and site where he gained experience in all aspects of his role within the company.
Mark became Managing Director of Portsmere Construction in 2017. Over the past two years he has developed strong connections with suppliers and subcontractors making Portsmere Construction a competent presence in any building team.

Since joining the company, Sarah has been working hard alongside her family as the dependable figure for the Portsmere Construction team.
Her exceptional organisation skills and attention to detail makes her suitable for her role within the company as a Director as well as being responsible for human resources. She organises internal and external training for staff members making us a valuable body on site in any project.
In addition, Sarah runs the finance element of the company, she administers payments to our subcontractors and suppliers. Our goal is to have an efficient operation through each project and this is largely down to Sarah being the all important link between these bodies.
Sarah Whittall
James joined Portsmere after completing a degree in Product Design. After university he began working on site as a labourer. After slowly becoming more involved in the building process as time went on, he was offered to be trained as a quantity surveyor.
Since then he has completed Quantity Surveying: Instance (RICS), and is now working towards a full certificate in Quantity Surveying Practice (RICS). Now working in the office as a surveyor, he is responsible for providing site with the materials and tools which ensure projects operate smoothly.
